The American dream: Is it slipping away?
The article talks about the American dream and its effects on social system. it argues that what if people do not dream anymore. the most interesting point for me is that for the maintenance of society, the article requires the inequality in society in order to keep going in competition. An ABC News/Yahoo News poll revealed that today, only half of us think the American dream — which the pollsters defined as 'if you work hard you'll get ahead' — still holds true, while 43% said that it had once been true. here is the link for article: http://articles.latimes.com/2010/sep/27/opinion/la-oe-rodriguez-dream-20100927
